We live in a society immersed in technology. I sleep on a bed designed for astronauts, drive a car with a radar adaptive cruise control system, and use a GPS mapping system in my phone that pinpoints my location within a few feet with technology adapted from the military. Why shouldn’t your dental office use all this new technology to make your dental health better and your dental treatment easier, more comfortable, and more convenient?
Willow Glen Dentistry has invested in lots of technology for these reasons. We investigated all the available technologies and chose those that would give our patients and staff the biggest improvements in treatment quality, comfort or convenience.
The most important of these technologies is the CEREC system. This CAD/CAM system makes full and partial crowns in one visit instead of two, without the messy and unpleasant-tasting impression materials. CEREC crowns are beautiful, convenient and often more comfortable than lab-made crowns (because they avoid using leaky temporaries). This system costs more than $100,000 but saves you time and saves the office money. Dr Pisacane has used the CEREC system for more than 10 years and now is a nationally recognized instructor and lecturer.
In addition to CEREC, our practice utilizes digital radiography, or x-rays. This system eliminates the need for a darkroom and chemicals to show us images of your teeth, and does so almost instantly. It also allows us to reduce the radiation dose of our images by more than 90%, a huge benefit.
Other technologies utilized by our practice include treatment and diagnostic lasers, silicone isolation devices, the highest quality sterilization systems, and others. No matter the technologies, they all have the same goal: the improvement of the patient experience.
