What causes yellow teeth?
A variety of factors lead to your teeth turning yellow. Things you eat or drink can stain the enamel on your teeth and cause a yellowish tint to form.
Things that could cause yellowing include:
Advanced age
Certain medications
Coffee, tea, and red wine
Chewing tobacco
Smoking
As you age and with increased exposure to the factors causing discoloration, stains soak deep into the enamel and affect the dentin, or deeper layer, of your teeth. Once this happens, brushing alone will not improve your tooth color.
What is the Zoom! Whitening by Philips?
Willow Glen Dentistry is proud to offer this revolutionary teeth-whitening system, which was developed by a renowned cosmetic dentist. This system has been shown to potentially make your teeth up to 16 shades brighter.*
The Zoom! Whitening by Philips offers either daytime treatments or nighttime treatments. You may choose to sleep in a set of whitening trays or take one to two periods a day to apply the whitening treatment.
Benefits of this system include:
Safe and effective, even for whitening-resistant teeth
Pain-free, with decreased risk for sensitivity
Refrigerated, making it stable and effective
Convenient, can be done at home when the timing is right for you
In as little as two weeks, this system can significantly improve the coloring of your teeth, improve your overall appearance, and boost your confidence.
What does the Zoom! Whitening by Philips involve?
The Zoom! Whitening by Philips is an at-home treatment, which you can choose to do at night or during the day. At either time, you place two specialized types of gel in an upper and lower whitening tray, and then place these trays in your mouth for a prescribed period of time — either overnight, or a short period in the morning and at night.
The Zoom uses a whitening gel and a desensitizing gel. These work together to give you whiter teeth without the tooth sensitivity, which is common with other teeth whitening systems.
The whitening system is used over 14 consecutive days or nights and may be prescribed for longer if your dentist feels your teeth may be resistant to the whitening treatment.
You will receive instructions for how to properly store and use the Zoom! Whitening by Philips System at home. For best results, carefully read and understand these guidelines. Dr. Tru Tran or Dr. Leon Chang at Willow Glen Dentistry can answer any questions you may have.
