VENEERS
Cosmetic Dentistry in San Jose
Cracked, stained, or misshapen teeth can make you feel self-conscious and have a negative impact on your self-confidence. We provide porcelain veneers as a means to improve your smile’s appearance and function. Custom veneers can help you feel and look your best.
What are veneers?
Veneers are thin porcelain shells designed to cover the front side of your teeth and enhance your natural smile. Each veneer is custom-made to fit your individual teeth, then one of the skilled cosmetic dentists at Willow Glen Dentistry bonds them to your existing teeth. Veneers fix flaws such as cracks, gaps, stains, or misshapen teeth. They can also restore delicate teeth.
Veneers can be constructed out of resin composite materials, but porcelain is the most stain-resistant material. Porcelain tends to do a better job replicating the look of your natural tooth enamel, too. A skilled dental team member describes your choices and helps you pick the best kind of veneers for your unique situation.
Why should I get veneers?
Veneers are a natural-looking means to correct misshapen, cracked, or crooked teeth. They also offer these benefits:
Resistance to stains
Little gum irritation
Ability to lighten darker teeth, so they appear whiter
Aesthetically pleasing with minimal dental work
Strengthen teeth
Cheaper than other dental treatments, such as crowns
How do I get veneers?
After a meeting to talk through your veneer options and the results you’d like to see, you return for a follow-up appointment. Our dental team will prepare your current teeth for the shape of the veneers by scraping off a minimal amount of enamel from the surface. After your teeth are ready, Dr. Tru Tran or Dr. Leon Chang will take a mold of your teeth to create your individualized veneers in the dental lab.
When your veneers are ready, you come back to have the veneers fitted to each tooth. To prepare your teeth for the bonding process, our dentist cleans and etches the surface of your teeth. Then uses a specialized cement and light source that bonds the cement securely to the porcelain.
In no time at all, your veneers are securely in place, and you have a bright and improved smile.
